Salary Tax Calculator for Pakistan

What the slabs actually take, before anyone tells you otherwise.

Enter a monthly or annual salary and this works out the income tax due for tax year 2027 under the slabs set by the Finance Act, 2026. No email required, nothing stored, and the figures come from the Act rather than from last year’s table.

The slab table below is the salaried one. Freelancer, retailer and small business figures use their own regimes, explained on the PSEB, Asaan scheme and income tax return pages.

The Slabs It Uses

Eight bands for salaried individuals, each charging a fixed amount plus a rate on the income above the band’s floor.

  • Up to Rs 600,000 — no tax
  • Rs 600,001 to 1,200,000 — 1% of the amount above Rs 600,000
  • Rs 1,200,001 to 2,200,000 — Rs 6,000 + 11% above Rs 1,200,000
  • Rs 2,200,001 to 3,200,000 — Rs 116,000 + 20% above Rs 2,200,000
  • Rs 3,200,001 to 4,100,000 — Rs 316,000 + 25% above Rs 3,200,000
  • Rs 4,100,001 to 5,600,000 — Rs 541,000 + 29% above Rs 4,100,000
  • Rs 5,600,001 to 7,000,000 — Rs 976,000 + 32% above Rs 5,600,000
  • Above Rs 7,000,000 — Rs 1,424,000 + 35% above Rs 7,000,000

Only the income above each floor is taxed at that band’s rate. Crossing into a higher slab never reduces your take-home pay.

What It Does Not Know

A calculator sees one number. A return sees your whole position.

  • Taxable salary is not gross salary. Certain allowances and reimbursements are treated differently, and the figure your employer withholds on may not be your gross pay.
  • Tax credits and deductible allowances are not applied here — charitable donations and pension contributions among them, which reduce the final figure.
  • Other income is excluded. Rent, profit on debt, freelance or business income are taxed under their own rules and change the outcome.
  • It assumes a full year on the same salary. A mid-year raise, a job change or months without pay all shift the annual figure.

For a salaried person on one steady income, the number above will usually be close. For anything more layered than that, treat it as a starting point rather than an answer.

Owing Nothing Is Not the Same as Filing Nothing

A salary below Rs 600,000 a year attracts no tax. It does not follow that no return is due — filing is what puts you on the Active Taxpayer List, and being off that list costs money on property, banking and vehicle transactions regardless of what you earn.

If tax is already being deducted from your pay, filing is also how you claim back anything over-deducted. See income tax return filing, or NTN registration if you have never registered.

Numbers Are One Thing. Filing Is Another.

The figure above is what the slabs produce. Whether it matches your payslip, whether allowances have been treated correctly, and whether your return is filed on time are separate questions. Send us your details and we will deal with all three.

Slabs above are those set by the Finance Act, 2026 for tax year 2027 (1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027), checked September 2026. The 9% surcharge that previously applied to salaried income above Rs 10 million was abolished by that Act. Slabs change with every Finance Act, and this calculator is updated when they do. It is a guide, not a computation of your liability.
