Privacy Policy

The website collects almost nothing. The engagement collects a great deal.

Tax work involves handing over some of the most sensitive information a person or business has — CNIC, income, bank details, business records. This policy explains what is collected, why, where it goes and how long it is kept, separating what the website does from what the practice does.

What the Website Collects

Less than most sites. As at the date below, this site runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party embeds.

  • Server logs. Like any website, the hosting server records requests — IP address, time, page requested, browser type. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting.
  • Functional cookies. A small number of first-party cookies support how the site works, such as remembering a light or dark display preference, along with cookies set by the caching and security components of the site.
  • Nothing else. There is no contact form on this site, no newsletter signup, no chat widget and no tracking pixel. The site does not build a profile of you.

If analytics are added later — and they are planned — this policy will be updated to say so before they are switched on, and the site will ask for consent where consent is required.

What We Collect If You Contact Us

Enquiries reach us by WhatsApp, telephone or email. Whatever you choose to send in that message is held by the service you used — WhatsApp and email messages sit on those platforms under their own privacy terms, not ours — and by us in our records of the enquiry.

We ask that sensitive documents are not sent until there is a reason to send them. An initial question rarely needs your CNIC attached.

What We Collect If You Engage Us

This is the substantial part, and it is collected for one purpose: to do the work.

  • Identity information — name, CNIC, NTN, contact details, and the same for partners, directors or shareholders where the matter requires it
  • Financial information — income, expenses, bank statements, invoices, purchase and sales records, and supporting documents
  • Business information — registration certificates, utility details, premises information, and documents required by FBR, SECP, the Punjab Revenue Authority or another authority
  • Correspondence — what has been discussed, filed and decided

This information is used to prepare and make filings, to advise on your position, and to keep the records a practice is expected to keep. It is not used for marketing, and it is not sold, rented or traded in any circumstances.

Who It Is Shared With

  • The relevant authority. Filing a return or an application means submitting information to FBR, the Punjab Revenue Authority, SECP or a comparable body. That is the purpose of providing it.
  • The colleague handling a complex matter, where a matter is referred internally as described on the About page.
  • Where the law requires it. Disclosure compelled by law or by a lawful order.

Beyond these, client information is not disclosed to anyone without the client’s instruction.

How Long It Is Kept, and How It Is Held

Records relating to filings are retained for as long as they may be needed to answer questions about those filings — tax matters can be reopened years later, and a client whose return is queried is not helped by a consultant who deleted the file. Retention periods follow the record-keeping requirements applicable to the relevant tax.

Information is held with access limited to those working on the matter. No system is beyond risk, and no absolute guarantee of security can honestly be given, but information is not left in places it does not need to be.

Your Choices

  • You can ask what information we hold about you
  • You can ask for information that is wrong to be corrected
  • You can ask us to delete information, subject to records we are required or reasonably need to retain
  • You can withdraw from an engagement at any time — what has already been filed with an authority cannot be unfiled, but nothing further will be done

Requests can be sent to usmantaxconsultants@gmail.com or to +92 300 0220306 on WhatsApp.
